Because children eat may be a battle on their own. Then add a healthy diet and most parents throw their hands in the air declaring it is almost impossible.

The best way to develop healthy eating habits is to start when they are toddlers. The rule of thumb: start as you mean to go on. Two requirements for healthy eating
The number one requirement for their children to eat healthy ensure there is healthy food at home. That means a refrigerator, freezer and cupboards are full of healthy food choices. I will not go so far as to say remove all junk food, but then again if you really want your kids a healthy diet by eliminating junk food means removing the option of an unhealthy diet, at least at home!
The second requirement for their children to eat healthy is to you an example. Our children of today no longer tolerate the rule of do as I say, not as I do. This style of parenting out long ago. If you continue to try this style of parenting not be surprised when their children follow suit.
7 Tips for Healthy Eating
Tip # 1
Involve your children in meal planning. This works especially well for picky eaters. Giving your children often eliminates the struggles of the lunchtime choice. This does not mean their children to determine what home is going to eat at every meal. Rather, it means they are a contributing member of the family and that their views are important. This sends a strong message to children. I recommend that your children are allowed to choose a weekly dinner for the family.
Tip # 2
Involve your children in making meals. Children are much more likely to eat something they have prepared. Being involved in food preparation can be as simple as collecting the necessary items from the refrigerator and cupboards. One can measure the ingredients, peeling vegetables, grate cheese, sauces pour preheat the oven.

In your dining room or kitchen table keep a basket with food ready to eat fruit. Oranges, Bananas and apples washed. You will be surprised how often food, eat healthy even when walking with them and not have to go looking.
Tip # 5
In your refrigerator to maintain a ready to eat (washed and cut) try: carrots, celery and cauliflower and broccoli with sauce. Keep your bathroom healthy, making your own. Better still let your children make the sauce. All you need to buy a pack lite sour cream and add a bag of onion soup mix, stir and refrigerate covered with fruits and vegetables. For a quick dip Try using your favorite ranch salad dressing or cucumber salad are my favorite vegetable dip for families. You can always put it on the table with dinner. Many children who do not like vegetables cooked raw love!
Tip # 6
In your refrigerator to maintain a ready to eat fruit tray. Peal a couple of sliced oranges and break, red grapes and green wedges of pineapple, and kiwi. Make a tray of fruits that are eaten and not turn brown after cutting. The key for many children is to add immersion of the fruit that is very easy to do. Buy a container of cool whip Lite and let it stand. Add a packet of Crystal "for your favorite (portion individual). My kids love their dip made with strawberry, orange Crystal Banana. Mix and serve. You see the fruit disappear!
Tip # 7
Mix vegetables where they can not see them. When my children were younger and thought of vegetables was enough to throw a tantrum at dinner, I learned to be creative. Every time I made pasta for dinner or pasta sauce used to fill with beef, chicken, etc. I added vegetables. I pureed in my blender, pepper green, red pepper, onion, mushrooms, garlic and something else happened to have on hand and added a can of pasta sauce. He stated that the best pasta sauce ever!
