Hydroponic tomato a bunch of flowers or fruit?

Hi, this is my son's second foray into hydroponics, which grew lettuce, a little slow and slugs found - not entirely successful. He now has a tomato plant in perlite, using a standard formula for hydroponics. It is increasingly higher against the window of her bedroom, hanging from the channel so it can grow. This does not get a full day of sunlight as about 5 feet is 1.5 meters away, the tomato East facing. We see a healthy plant and has lots of flowers, but ultimately dull brown, without setting any fruit. I think it needs more light (trying to convince my child to use the mirrors!) And I'm thinking of bringing flowers potted plants close, I have not seen the insects in tomatoes, although there are plenty in the nearby vegetable garden. Me wonder about the relationship of NPK what is necessary to change the fruiting? He has a cucumber vine and fruit growing on a separate computer, but one place and system. It seems that flowers are not getting pollinated. I'd go ahead and try to plant flowers try to attract some bees. Even planting marigolds, will flourish and keep away bugs bad too. Good luck.
